Do my rabbits need to be vaccinated before I can board with you?

Yes.  Please bring your rabbits up to date vaccination certificate with you on check in day or unfortunately they will not be able to board with us.  Vaccinations must have been given at least 14 days before check in to allow immunity to build and recovery from any side effects which are rare.  If both vaccinations are due at the same time they should be given at least 14 days apart.  Both are annual vaccinations.

There is also a new annual vaccination Nobivac Myxo-RHD Plus which covers the two vaccinations as stated above.  Please speak to your vet about your requirements.

Your rabbits need protecting against the following common diseases.
Myxomatosis is caused by a virus spread by blood sucking insects such as mosquitoes and the rabbit flea, which can affect both outdoor and house rabbits. Sadly, this can be fatal, so it is essential to provide all year round protection, as the virus can remain alive in the blood of hibernating fleas over the winter.
Viral haemorraghic disease - VHD is spread via direct contact with infected rabbits and on our clothing, shoes and objects. This disease can be rapidly fatal in those pets that are not vaccinated. A rabbit will often show no signs of VHD.  Two vaccinations are required and can be started from 5 weeks old. A combination vaccination is given yearly and will help prevent your rabbits from contracting myxomatosis and VHD. The second vaccination is required for another variant strain of VHD called VHD2, annually or 6 months if considered to be in a high-risk area.

My pet has a special diet. Can their needs be accommodated?

Yes of course.  Please bring any special diet you have for them and I will follow your guidelines.  Also please feel free to let me know any vegetables or fruits they like/dislike so they are as happy as they can be with me.

What do I need to bring with my rabbit or guinea pig when they come to stay?

Please bring your rabbits vaccination record (very important).

Please bring payment in the form of cash unless you have already made a bank transfer.

You will need to bring a supply of your pets usual dried food to cover the duration of their stay with us.  We supply litter trays for bunnies and feeding bowls for guinea pigs and bunnies but please let me know if you would prefer to bring your own.  Anything you bring from home will help them to settle in much quicker i.e. fleece blankets, snuggle sack, favourite hide, treats etc.  Having their own smell in their suite will be comforting.

How can I check on my pet during their stay?

You can WhatsApp me if you would like to know how your fur baby is doing.  I am happy to send you a picture on WhatsApp if you would like extra peace of mind.  Please be rest assured I will be giving them lots of love and attention.

How do I make payment?

You can either pay in cash on day of check in or before by bank transfer.  Payment must be made at the beginning of their stay with us - thank you.  If you wish to pay by bank transfer, please contact me for my bank details.

Do you board house rabbits?

A large percentage of the bunnies that stay with us are house bunnies.  Our accommodation is in a purpose built outbuilding and they have their own private suite.  You are very welcome to bring any blankets, towels, hides or anything you know that they like to snuggle in or lay on.  We have heaters in the cottages for the winter and we also have air conditioning and fans for the summer months.  We always have a radio on low in the cottage so that it provides comfort to all of our boarders.
